Welcome back

I picked this photo as one of my favorites, because it is just a really neat photo, with the blue and red and white.
I picked this photo because it is so weird to see people playing soccer right in front of a nuclear power plant.
This photo is one of my favorites, because  it captures what is happening in nature right now.

1. Now this was really the best song this year, but it was my personal favorite. Dark Red by Steve Lacy. Now I like this song a lot, because it is hard for me at least to define what genre the song is. It just sounds so unique and different, it is nice to hear something new and different in where I feel like most popular songs sound the same.

2. The best movie that came out this year in my opinion was the movie "Get Out".
This movie was so good because it provided a fresh concept for a movie, but something I feel like people can relate too. Whenever you see this movie  it puts you on the edge of your seat, and makes you think if something a character does is just weird or is there a deeper meaning to everything.

3.The best and most important news story this year is the U.S becoming more isolated from the rest of the world and foreign relationships hurting. Now you could count this as many different things, which it is, but I feel like it all comes back to this. You can't blame our allies abroad, when you see people marching with tiki torches saluting Hitler it must be shocking. Especially in the "Free World", but is it really, after all it was these same people that elected the current president. Not to mention it seems like our president can literally do nothing right: pulling out of the climate change agreement, threatening North Korea, forcing good relations with Putin, and Russia. We are the same country, but now people are starting to remove the hoods and robes, no longer scared of shame.

4.The most important person of the year, of course the man in the big red tie, Donald .J Trump. Trump has maybe appeared to have the most impact( Even though its mostly just noise) he has managed to try to completely discredit any people or media outlets that oppose him. He has led to not only many horrible things, but mostly important he has somehow divided the country even more than it was before, which I didn't even think was possible. Instead of what policy you favor, Trump has turned the parties of our government and their supporters into two different millitaries pitted against each other. When one team plays dirty, and the other team thinks they have to be better, we all lose.

5. The most important person/story for  entertainment is the N.B.A. In the past 3-4 years it seems like the N.B.A has kinda surged from being that one sport, to kinda the main sport. With exciting fast action, and the rise of super teams like the Warriors and Cavaliers have prompted more media coverage. I think people are just kinda getting tired of the NFL because of all the negativity and the sport, and teams like the Browns ruining careers left and right as they go.

Lines

I think this photo displays lines because of the lines in the building it really catches your eye, but the gash in the building's side really draws your attention, that it was something all parell but now it something broken, and out of form.

Africa

The pictures on the Scientific American, show a slideshow of photos taken by photographer Nick Brandt. These photos display various nature and animal scenes taken in Africa. These photos in my opinion are very good, and it makes me question how he even got these pictures. The photo I think I like the best, is the one of the lion and cubs sitting upon a rock in front of the sun. My second favorite being the picture baboons in profile, I like this photo, because  of the weird mist effect that is visible. When I looked up Nick Brandt on google images, my eye was instantly drawn to this picture , and I liked this one the best because of the light that is piercing through the tree line, onto this elephant. This photo follows the composition rules of balance, simplicity, and lines. Nick Brandt used a Pentax 6711, and used two fixed lenses on medium black and white format film. It is important to note that he did not use any telegraphic, or zoom lenses when shooting, which is usual...
