American soldier

I think the most powerful image is the one with the caption, life changing decision , at age 17. I think this is the most powerful image, because you can see in his face, that after this, you really can't come back. The images work together in creating a story, because it lets you see What Ian fisher is went through during his journey of enlisting into the army, and fighting in Iraq. Ian Fisher enlisted in the army, right after high school, over and over again he struggled with the discipline in the army, almost getting booted out multiple times. He went through many different relationships over the course of this period of time, and the friends and people he knew before the army grew further apart.  After finally going to Iraq, Fisher seemed to be a good soldier, and for the most part followed all commands given. After returning from Iraq, Fisher and his girlfriend Devin, got married. In the photos which feature Ian as the main subject, they are mostly written in present te...

Funny Captions

A man is taking on his dog in an exhilarating staring contest. This photo taken 12 hours into the contest, the man Bob eventually crumbled, to his adversary Greg. Two people appear to protesting at a parade. Gene(left) and Tom(Right) took up arms at a local celebration. Two world class procrastinator are seen conversing, and talking about some of their best kills. Two men Joel(left), and Bert(right) both world champion procrastinators are seen on the same side of the isle, mostly because they were yelled at to go take a walk.

Theme Parks.

I would like to visit the abandoned park of Wonderland, outside of Bejing, China. I would really like to visit this place with a camera, because to me there is something so intriguing about a castle that is just empty, and such a large structure that is so visible is just there. I would love to somehow get to the top of that castle, even though its probably not safe, or possible even though it is highly unlikely I could. 5 unusual places that would be of interest to photographers. I think a lot of these abandoned places are of interest to people to shoot, are because these are remants of peoples pasts and a place people used to love to go, is now left back to nature. 1.Abandoned zoos. I say abandoned zoos, because there would be a lot of distinct things that could identify that this place used to be a zoo, the metal cages, the habitats all things that come to mind of a zoo, 2. Beached ships, and shipwrecks. I think wrecked ships are pretty interesting, because no matter wha...

Africa

The pictures on the Scientific American, show a slideshow of photos taken by photographer Nick Brandt. These photos display various nature and animal scenes taken in Africa. These photos in my opinion are very good, and it makes me question how he even got these pictures. The photo I think I like the best, is the one of the lion and cubs sitting upon a rock in front of the sun. My second favorite being the picture baboons in profile, I like this photo, because  of the weird mist effect that is visible. When I looked up Nick Brandt on google images, my eye was instantly drawn to this picture , and I liked this one the best because of the light that is piercing through the tree line, onto this elephant. This photo follows the composition rules of balance, simplicity, and lines. Nick Brandt used a Pentax 6711, and used two fixed lenses on medium black and white format film. It is important to note that he did not use any telegraphic, or zoom lenses when shooting, which is usual...

Warm up Angelo

1.When I look at the pictures that Angelo took of his wife, when she was battling breast cancer, I feel very sad, and just very moved emotionally in general. 2.When he says"They do not define us, they are us." I thought that this is true. Just because she had breast cancer, and she was going through all this changes, it did not make her someone else. She was herself all the way to the end. 3.I think it would take incredible strength to do what Angelo has done by  taking these photos, and honestly I don't think I could do the same. To see someone I love suffer and drift away would already be bad, but to document the suffering of a loved one, would be something else entirely. 4.If I could write angelo a letter, I would tell him what a good job he has done taking these pictures, and also tell him how hard it must of been, and the pain he must have gone through doing this

Great Black and white photographers Pt.3

Photo "Chicago trees in snow" This first photo caught my eye, because it just looks so unnatural , and weird. Sight. If I where to be in the moment of when this picture was taken, I would see a very peaceful place, where nothing really is. Taste . If I were to be in the moment that this photo was taken. I would taste the crisp cold air. And the cold air when I breathe in and out. Touch . I would feel the cold on the edge of my winter attire keeping me warm in cozy, while walking in the frigid frozen weather. Sound . I would hear silence. And if not silence than more like the natural since that nature provides, the sound that the law of a distant bird, or the sound of water running. Smell. I would smell the cold air.I also think that when its winter, the trees and the grass just give off a different smell, one that is unique from  the other seasons. W hat really caught my eye when I first saw this photo, was the unique form that the shadow gives. It took me s...
